| One of the most cherished and memorable days of your life is approaching. The Prairie Pedlar provides a beautiful garden setting for outdoor marriage ceremonies. From casual to elegant or traditional to contemporary, we will help you create the once-in-a-lifetime celebration that you have dreamed of. Our garden is private, peaceful, and quiet - except for the songs of birds in the trees and the trickle of the waterfall in the pond. Flowers bloom everywhere throughout the growing season, creating a picture-perfect backdrop that is truly a photographer’s delight. Whether ceremonies are celebrated in a small, intimate gathering or as a large, lavish affair, our goal is your complete satisfaction by providing you, your family, and your guests with a special experience that will be long remembered. |
| We currently have three ceremony sites at the Prairie Pedlar. Our Sanctuary Garden features an elevated altar edged in fieldstone. A perennial selection of white blooming perennials, trees, and shrubs accent the shaded area with simple elegance. After several years of maturity, this garden is becoming a perfect setting for large outdoor wedding ceremonies. (Seating space: up to 600 people) |
| For smaller, more intimate weddings, we use the grass expanse in the heart of the garden, where a riot of flowers blooms in continuous succession throughout the summer months. This ceremony takes place in front of the water garden. (Seating space: up to 150 people) |
| The newest wedding area is accentuated by a new ten-sided gazebo in the northeast corner of the acreage. A bell tower crowns the wedding chapel and rings of a grand celebration. (A large grassy expanse allows seating for 400) |
| The gardens provide a spacious and private setting for events of all kinds. How about a garden style birthday party for your children? We’ll provide the fun and games and you supply the refreshments and party decorations. Adult birthday parties are almost as much fun. Let us provide the refreshments for a morning brunch, noon luncheon, or a mid-afternoon garden tea time. The garden also hosts occasional class reunions, family gatherings, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, and business meetings. Choose from the following garden settings: *Country School seats up to 60 people for an indoor location in case of inclement weather *Sears barn seats 100 people in the lower level and that many more in the hayloft – great for bus tours and larger reception groups *Garden Folly seat intimate groups of 4-8 for coffee, tea time, or small luncheon *New Gazebo seats 24 for a shady outdoor spot *Under the Arbor seats up to 36 in a grassy expanse of filtered light *Picnic tables are always available for sack lunches anytime you visit the garden *20X30 ft. tent available for outdoor entertainment *Dance Floor available Reservations are required and fee payment guarantees your date.
