We are gearing up for spring and 2008 marks the EIGHTH year for our kid’s garden club, the “Green Team”. We're making big changes this year and want to try something new.  We are planning three “DAY CAMPS” instead of our weekly morning sessions. A longer day will allow the participants to complete more detailed garden projects and craft more time-consuming nature projects. We have selected 3 dates: May 28th, June 11th, and June 25th.  Students (ages 8 and older) may attend one or all three sessions. Each will be organized with garden activities appropriate for that particular time in the growing season.  On May 28th we will be concentrating on a new roof garden project.  June 11th will focus on the construction of a new wattle fence, and on June 25th the class will develop a new whimsical garden sculpture at the Prairie Pedlar. With this hands-on experience, students will be able to replicate similar projects in their own backyards. A variety of take-home crafts, scavenger hunts, and garden games will compliment each day’s activities, in addition to these new Prairie Pedlar projects. Regardless of your level of experience, we invite you to the garden to learn and experience the fine art of gardening, to develop lifelong garden skills, and enjoy nature crafts and flower fun. Each Day Camp will operate from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm. The fee is $18 per student.  Lunch will be provided.  In the event there are not enough students signed up, the Day Camp may be cancelled and money will be refunded. All registration fees must be prepaid by May 23rd. Sorry, but fees are non-refundable - materials will be purchased in advance. However, you are welcome to find a substitute to take your place if necessary.

Waiver of Liability Form

 

In exchange for the right to participate in the Kids Garden Club, The Green Team, supported in whole or in part by the Prairie Pedlar, I hereby release and agree to hold harmless the Prairie Pedlar, owners, business employees and assistants to which the activity may be involved, from all liability, loss claims and demands that may accrue from any loss, damage or injury (including death) to my person or property, in any way resulting from, arising while engaged in activity on the premises, or while upon entering or departing from said premises.

 

I know the risk and damages to myself and property while upon said premises or while participating or assisting in this event, and so voluntarily and in reliance upon my own judgment and ability, I hereby assume all risk for loss, damage, or injury (including death) to myself and my property from any cause whatsoever.  I further acknowledge that I know and understand that the Prairie Pedlar does not provide medical or accidental injury insurance coverage for the participant and that I am solely responsible for providing such insurance coverage for myself if I desire that protection.
